Elle Kowal

Chief Operating Officer

Elizabeth (Elle) Kowal is responsible for strategically leading MineralTree in creating a friction-less AP & payment process. Elle previously led the product and design organization to ensure that we deliver business value to market through understanding client needs, pain paints, and market opportunities.

Prior to MineralTree, Elle led product management at Fiserv, a global provider of technology services, where her team focused on billing and payment capabilities for businesses of all sizes. Elle has also spent many years of her career in leadership roles at various financial institutions, giving her a strong background in financial services, payments and business technology.

Outside of work she spends her time with her 3 kids and husband, watching sports (Go Patriots), or reading a good book with a glass of wine.

Jim Bork headshot

Jim Bork

Chief Sales Officer

Jim Bork is a successful and experienced SaaS, ERP and FinTech sales executive with deep knowledge of vertical sales/go-to-market strategies and the financial/ERP ecosystem. At MineralTree, he is responsible for all sales efforts including mid-market, enterprise, and partner channels.

Prior to joining MineralTree, he was Vice President of Sales at Stord, a provider of SaaS-based supply chain management software solutions. His 20-plus years in leadership also include leading highly successful sales organizations at Trax Technologies, HighRadius, Oracle/NetSuite, Lawson, and Epicor.

Jim has a bachelor of science degree from Arizona State University with a concentration in business administration and supply chain management.

Outside of work, Jim enjoys travel adventures with his family, biking, golf, and almost anything outdoors, including a recently discovered love for Pickleball. He is also active in his community as a mentor in the Big Brother/Big Sister program.

Gary Brand Headshot

Gary Brand

Financial Institution General Manager

Gary Brand is the General Manager, for FI Partner Programs at MineralTree. An accomplished direct and indirect executive, Gary’s career spans over thirty years in technology. Prior to Mineral Tree, at Fiserv Gary lead the strategy for billing, payment and communications solutions. Prior roles at Fiserv include the introduction of Immediate Funds and Source Capture Solutions, both of which Gary successfully led from startup to multimillion-dollar businesses.

Prior to joining Fiserv, Gary led sales, channel and product organizations, for Network Associates (McAfee), IBM and Lotus Development Corporation.

With over 500 public speaking engagements, Gary is a popular speaker at industry conferences, client events and educational forums.
Gary enjoys the outdoors with his favorite activity, playing golf with his wife and two sons.

Rob Brooks headshot

Rob Brooks

Vice President, Engineering

Robert is responsible for all engineering efforts at MineralTree including Software Architecture, Development, QA, Data Science, Cloud Operations, and Information Security.

Rob brings over 25 years of experience in payments, analytics and operations to MineralTree. He has helped a number of startups successfully grow and achieve prominence. Those learnings have been very beneficial in his role at MineralTree.

Most recently, Rob was Vice President of Engineering at Nielsen (NYSE: NLSN), a global measurement and data analytics company. Rob joined Nielsen from Visual IQ when the marketing analytics company was acquired by Nielsen in 2017. His career also includes engineering leadership roles at Nuance Communications (NASD: NUAN), a provider of conversational AI solutions; ACI Worldwide (NASDAQ: ACIW), a leading provider of omni-channel payments technology; and P&H Solutions, a pioneer in web-based cash management solutions.

Rob lives in Westford, MA with his wife and two daughters. His extended family includes 2 dogs, a cat and a parrot as well.

Joe Fortini Headshot

Joe Fortini

Vice President, Customer Success

Joe serves as the Vice President of Customer Success at MineralTree. He and his team are responsible for working with MineralTree clients to Automate their AP process. This means helping them make the most of their investment in MineralTree’s AP Automation solution. He and his team love sharing best practices with clients as they digitize their AP process from invoice capture, coding and approvals to optimizing their payments. Prior to joining MineralTree Joe spent 10 years as Senior Vice President of Account Management at Smart Tuition, a Blackbaud company.

Outside of work, Joe has a passion for sports and the outdoors. He can often be found hiking with his family or shooting a round of golf. A native New Yorker now living in New England, he also spends his time reminding the locals which baseball team has won more championships (regardless of recent history!)

Matt Friend headshot

Matt Friend

Vice President, Product and Program Management

Matt Friend is responsible for leading MineralTree’s product and design and program and project management organizations. Matt leads his teams to ensure the delivery of business value to the market through understanding client needs, pain points, and market opportunities. In addition, Matt works across organizational boundaries to clearly define, align teams with, and execute strategic goals and objectives.

Throughout his career, Matt has worked in various leadership positions at both small startups and large established companies, including MathWorks and SmashFly, where he built teams and processes to define and align on product strategy and drive product delivery.

Outside of work, Matt likes to spend time outside biking, hiking, or paddle boarding, cooking, or rooting around in old dusty spaces searching for forgotten treasures.

Kristin Hambelton headshot

Chief Marketing Officer

Kristin is responsible for leading MineralTree’s Marketing strategy and operations, bringing with her experience that spans both high growth start-up companies and global enterprise organizations. She is passionate about go-to-market strategy and execution, customer experience, and Marketing technology.

Prior to MineralTree, Kristin led Marketing at companies with track records of scaling, including Neolane, a campaign management provider that was acquired by Adobe, and Evariant, a healthcare patient acquisition and retention platform, acquired by Healthgrades. Earlier in her career, she held various marketing leadership roles at Kronos and IDC.

Outside of work she can be found in the kitchen baking up a storm, in the garden trying not to kill too many plants, or with her head buried in a book. A Marketing nerd at heart, she also likes to spend time helping fellow Marketers with go-to-market advice and resources, career guidance, and in finding new opportunities.

John Keast

John Keast

Enterprise Solutions Operating Officer

John leads MineralTree’s Enterprise Operations team that defines, implements and operates our AP and Payment solutions for Enterprise customers. John’s team takes a unique outcome driven approach when working with our Enterprise customers before, during and after the implementation to ensure they achieve the short and sustained long term business value they expect.

Prior to MineralTree, John served as COO at Inspyrus that was acquired by MineralTree in 2020. John has also held C-level Digital Transformation, Operations and Technology roles at DHL Worldwide Express, Apple Computer, PG&E Corporation, E2Open, VEGAS.com and has successfully founded several VC funded startups focussed on B2B and IOT.

Outside of work John is an avid Blues and Rock Fan, aspiring Bass Player, a Harley-Davidson Enthusiast and recently into BBQ – he is fortunate to know many of the worlds leading headliners and chefs – thanks to his time as COO of Vegas.com.

Jill Rosenthal

Jill Rosenthal

Senior Director of Payment Operations

Jill Rosenthal is responsible for the success and growth of MineralTree’s B2B payment solutions. As head of MineralTree’s Payment Operations organization, she leads the teams responsible for optimizing our customers’ payments, providing value to their suppliers, and generating revenue growth for MineralTree.

Jill is an experienced leader and versatile 20-year commercial card and B2B payments industry professional. Prior to MineralTree, Jill spent 14 years at JPMorgan where she held leadership and strategy roles in their commercial payments business. Jill’s career focus and passion is conceiving and executing B2B payments growth strategies, developing and leading high-performing teams, driving revenue, and cultivating strong customer and partner relationships.

Outside of work, you will find Jill spending as much time possible outdoors with her family and their high energy puppy, Peet. She enjoys cooking, hiking, skiing and taking long walks.
