As MineralTree’s CEO, Micah is responsible for guiding MineralTree’s overall strategy and execution with a focus on building exceptional value for customers and partners. As a company that puts teamwork and a positive work culture at the center of everything it does, creating a work environment focused on employee growth, development, and collaboration is core part of Micah’s role.
Micah originally joined MineralTree in 2018 as Chief Operating Officer to help scale and broaden the reach of the company. Prior to joining MineralTree, Micah held various executive leadership roles in operations, product, and general management at Boston-based technology company EnerNOC. At EnerNOC, Micah focused on helping CFO’s and other finance professionals gain greater transparency, reporting, and control over key cost inputs.
Micah holds a Master of Business Administration in Strategy from the Yale School of Management and a Bachelor of Science in Ecology from the University of Maine. He is also a youth soccer coach and is on the board of Lincoln Youth Soccer.
When not helping companies achieve massive efficiencies in their payables and B2B payments, Micah can be found doing just about anything active in the outdoors. An enthusiastic cyclist, ultrarunner, backpacker, and fly fisherman, Micah’s favorite trip each year is to the backcountry of Yellowstone National Park with his family where he can be found trying to keep up with his kids during hikes between campsites in the morning and casting to cutthroat trout in the evening.
Vijay Ramnathan is a fintech and payments geek and has spent over 20 years in the space. Vijay got started in the accounting and finance profession and has spent his professional life in payments and financial services. He is driven to lead and grow companies with a focus on exceptional customer experience, new technologies and cultivating exceptional talent. He is passionate about having a strong understanding of customer needs and creating distinctive solutions that drive value for all stakeholders.
He has functional expertise in product development/innovation, marketing, sales, business expansion, global expansion, and channel development. He has been an architect of change who works alongside talented teams to drive tremendous impact for customers, shareholders and employees. His passion is in building and scaling fast growing companies by solving important problems through product and business model innovation.
Vijay is an entrepreneur at heart and has a penchant for creating new business opportunities and identifying, creating and growing adjacencies.
In these 21 years, he has built many new products and businesses that serve consumers, small businesses, fortune 500 companies and government agencies. These have delivered over $450MM in new/incremental revenue for the companies he has worked for [US Bank, Corporate Payments Systems for 14 years, Fifth Third Bank, Corporate Strategy & Innovation for 3 years and over 3 years with Fleetcor Inc. (Comdata Corporate Payments)].
Vijay grew up in India, has a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (Osmania University), is a Chartered Accountant (ICAI), went to Grad school at the University of Iowa (Strategy & Marketing), lived in Minneapolis for 14 years followed by 7 years in Cincinnati before moving to Boston with his wife (of 19 years) and 11-year old son.
In his free time, he enjoys cooking different cuisines from cultures along the equator (hot, spicy food). He also loves music, tennis, (American) football and cricket.
Chris Sands is MineralTree’s Chief Financial Officer with responsibility for the Company’s financial strategy and operations. Chris brings a breadth of financial expertise having previously led FP&A, Investor Relations, and Treasury functions at public companies as well as from several years of investment banking and sell-side equity research experience.
Chris is a fintech enthusiast, passionate about the role that technology is playing in transforming finance functions. Chris was drawn to MineralTree by the unique opportunity to build a finance function in that image and contribute to a product that is helping like-minded professionals do the same. Chris loves collaborating with the Product team to enhance MineralTree’s product, although he’s not sure they’re quite as keen to receive his feedback.
Chris lives in Boston with his wife, and enjoys exercise, sport, reading and cooking, particularly pizza night on Fridays.
Chris earned a B.S. from Lehigh University with majors in Finance, Accounting, and Economics and an M.B.A. from the University of Virginia. He is also a CPA and CFA charterholder.
Keith Albee is responsible for leading MineralTree’s go-to-market strategy and execution. He loves building and scaling all aspects of high performing revenue organizations, from the art of inside-sales cold calling strategies to the cultivation of enterprise-level channel partner programs. An accomplished and motivating team leader, his experience includes overseeing revenue growth and retention in start-up and high-growth companies.
Prior to MineralTree, Keith led various sales teams at companies with track records of growth and exits. This included Yodle, an online marketing company, which during his tenure saw revenue growth from 10M to 67M in less than 3 years and was acquired later by Web.com for 340M. As the head of both enterprise and insides sales at EnerNOC, he helped grow the Company’s fledgling SaaS business unit from $0 to $30M ARR. EnerNOC was later acquired by the Enel Group for a 38% premium over the Company’s volume-weighted average share price.
When not selling, the Maine native can be found enjoying the great outdoors whether it be hiking, fishing, skiing, or running. Complementing Keith’s passion for nature is his love of traveling. To date, he has visited over 37 countries, many of them traversed by motorcycle.
Keith holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (B.S.B.A) with a concentration in Marketing, from The University of Maine.
Elizabeth (Elle) Kowal is responsible for leading MineralTree’s product and design organization. Elle leads her team of product managers and designers ensuring that we deliver business value to market through understanding client needs, pain points, and market opportunities.
Prior to MineralTree, Elle led product management at Fiserv, a global provider of technology services, where her team focused on billing and payment capabilities for businesses of all sizes. Elle has also spent many years of her career in leadership roles at various financial institutions, giving her a strong background in financial services, payments and business technology.
Outside of work she spends her time with her 3 kids and husband, watching sports (Go Patriots), or reading a good book with a glass of wine.
Joe serves as the Vice President of Customer Success at MineralTree. He and his team are responsible for working with MineralTree clients to Automate their AP process. This means helping them make the most of their investment in MineralTree’s AP Automation solution. He and his team love sharing best practices with clients as they digitize their AP process from invoice capture, coding and approvals to optimizing their payments. Prior to joining MineralTree Joe spent 10 years as Senior Vice President of Account Management at Smart Tuition, a Blackbaud company.
Outside of work, Joe has a passion for sports and the outdoors. He can often be found hiking with his family or shooting a round of golf. A native New Yorker now living in New England, he also spends his time reminding the locals which baseball team has won more championships (regardless of recent history!)
Kristin is responsible for leading MineralTree’s Marketing strategy and operations, bringing with her experience that spans both high growth start-up companies and global enterprise organizations. She is passionate about go-to-market strategy and execution, customer experience, and Marketing technology.
Prior to MineralTree, Kristin led Marketing at companies with track records of scaling, including Neolane, a campaign management provider that was acquired by Adobe, and Evariant, a healthcare patient acquisition and retention platform, acquired by Healthgrades. Earlier in her career, she held various marketing leadership roles at Kronos and IDC.
Outside of work she can be found in the kitchen baking up a storm, in the garden trying not to kill too many plants, or with her head buried in a book. A Marketing nerd at heart, she also likes to spend time helping fellow Marketers with go-to-market advice and resources, career guidance, and in finding new opportunities.
Kristin holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (B.S.B.A) with a concentration in Marketing, from Boston University.
Gary Brand is the General Manager, for FI Partner Programs at Mineral Tree. An accomplished direct and indirect executive, Gary’s career spans over thirty years in technology. Prior to Mineral Tree, at Fiserv Gary lead the strategy for billing, payment and communications solutions. Prior roles at Fiserv include the introduction of Immediate Funds and Source Capture Solutions, both of which Gary successfully led from startup to multimillion-dollar businesses.
Prior to joining Fiserv, Gary led sales, channel and product organizations, for Network Associates (McAfee), IBM and Lotus Development Corporation.
With over 500 public speaking engagements, Gary is a popular speaker at industry conferences, client events and educational forums.
Gary enjoys the outdoors with his favorite activity, playing golf with his wife and two sons.
Robert is responsible for all engineering efforts at MineralTree including Software Architecture, Development, QA, Data Science, Cloud Operations, and Information Security.
Rob brings over 25 years of experience in payments, analytics and operations to MineralTree. He has helped a number of startups successfully grow and achieve prominence. Those learnings have been very beneficial in his role at MineralTree.
Most recently, Rob was Vice President of Engineering at Nielsen (NYSE: NLSN), a global measurement and data analytics company. Rob joined Nielsen from Visual IQ when the marketing analytics company was acquired by Nielsen in 2017. His career also includes engineering leadership roles at Nuance Communications (NASD: NUAN), a provider of conversational AI solutions; ACI Worldwide (NASDAQ: ACIW), a leading provider of omni-channel payments technology; and P&H Solutions, a pioneer in web-based cash management solutions.
Rob lives in Westford, MA with his wife and two daughters. His extended family includes 2 dogs, a cat and a parrot as well.
Mike Railey is responsible for the success and growth of MineralTree’s payment solutions. As head of MineralTree’s Payment Operations organization, he oversees the supplier enablement and payment support functions, as well as develops and manages strategic partnerships in the payments ecosystem.
With nearly two decades of experience in technology-focused organizations, Railey brings his passion for innovation and for rapidly scaling operations to the dynamic B2B payments space at an exciting time of transition from old paper-based processes to modern and automated digital workflows. Supporting this transition, under Railey’s leadership, MineralTree transformed its emerging virtual card option into an industry-leading core component of the MineralTree platform, and launched a highly competitive multi-currency payment capability with faster execution and greater visibility than traditional methods.
Before joining MineralTree, Railey held operations and corporate development roles at EnerNOC, a publicly-traded enterprise software firm, and was a submarine officer in the United States Navy. He holds bachelor of science degrees in mathematics and computer science from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
Matt works across organizational boundaries to clearly define, align teams with, and execute strategic goals and objectives. He builds and manages teams of skilled and dedicated program and project managers and builds an effective PMO. Matt has worked in both small startups and large established companies, including MathWorks, where he built a team of program managers to support the company’s flagship enterprise product; and SmashFly, where he established the project and program management functions. Matt is now working to establish project and program management at MineralTree.
Outside of work, Matt is neck-deep in transitioning his daughters to college, which is even crazier in the COVID world. He also spends a lot of time outside on his bike, hiking, paddle boarding, or puttering in his garden.
