“UX design is something that’s never complete – it needs constant updates to keep the design fresh as features and improvements are constantly added. I enjoy the endless challenge of asking myself if our user experience at MineralTree meets current needs and is scalable for the near-term.”

Meeta joined MineralTree six years ago in April 2013 and leads an agile team of developers and designers. Her expertise in design thinking and ability to translate user-experience journeys into intuitive interactions has helped to shape MineralTree’s unique, award-winning product into what it is today.

In her own words

How did you find out about MineralTree and why did you join?

I met our CEO, BC Krishna, quite by chance. At the time he was looking for a design leader for MineralTree. I was skeptical at first given that design is usually not given its due in most companies, and its value is not typically understood beyond “prettifying” something. And, most folks also don’t understand that UX design is something that’s never complete – it needs constant updates to keep the design fresh as features and improvements are constantly added. A few discussions with BC convinced me I could focus on creating good design and there would always be plenty of challenging projects to work on.

In your own words, what do you do at MineralTree?

My job is to advocate for our customers and their needs. The value our product provides is to save them time and money, and the design of the product has to be constantly fine-tuned to ensure we deliver that value in every interaction the customer has with it.

What motivates you to wake up and go to work every day?

The energy of the workplace and my wonderful coworkers make it worth going in to work everyday. A lot of people say that we hire really good people, and I think that couldn’t be more true. We are all working to achieve the same common goal and the overall positive, forward thinking mentality only enhances our work culture even more.

Please provide a brief statement on your experience working at MineralTree and how the company has enabled you to develop skills and move forward in your career.

I have been with MineralTree for almost six years. In these years the product as well as its users have evolved significantly. We started with a fairly simple product in a nascent market. Now, 6 years later (8 years for the company as a whole), our customer needs are quite complex and varied. Our product reflects these variances and provides value to each organization without disrupting their current process, while keeping it intuitive. I enjoy the constant challenge of asking myself if our user experience meets current needs and is scalable for the near-term. It also forces me to understand the latest UX trends in the digital landscape.

Which employee perk that MineralTree offers do you enjoy the most? Why?

I look forward to Friday lunches the most! It is one event which brings together people where we eat family style and enjoy the camaraderie.

If you had to describe MineralTree in one word, which word would you choose? Why?

High-energy. We’re a bunch of really passionate people intent on creating the best AP and payments product out there.
